Pre-finished straight cut 152mm and 102mm Western Red Cedar Louvre blades

Breezway will soon be introducing the option of pre-finished 152mm and 102mm WRC blades. Blades have been finished using Envirochoice coatings and the Weatherseal is supplied pre-fitted in the Breezway factory. This takes away the complexity and cost of on site finishing and sealing, while also achieving a consistent and thorough “factory” seal to the timber. Please contact your Breezway Area Manager for details.

102mm Altair Louvres for straight cut 14mm timber blades

Breezway are set to launch a 102mm Altair Louvre with 14mm clip to compliment the 152mm version. The louvres use a 14mm straight cut blade that can be cut to size on the building site. Altair high performance characteristics are retained, such as the drainage channels and the living hinge, which improves the water and air leakage performance. The blade retention mechanism also improves security and the appearance of clips will remain similar to the clips that suit 6mm blades. These are available for the standard Breezway colour matched range.

New timber extension blade carrier now available!

Subtle improvements have been made to the Altair Blade Carrier for off standard heights when using timber blades. The blade carrier holds the timber blade in place, providing extra support when a fixed timber blade is used and now means the full range of off standard heights are available. The installation procedure is also the same as for the glass extension blade carrier.

Please Note: There will be no impact on assembled window systems purchased from Breezway as any extension blades will be pre-fitted. However for those of you who purchase Altair Components or Knock-Down Window Systems, please note the minor change to installation methods.

Launch of the new FVE Fakro Electric Opening Skylight

The new Fakro Electric Opening Skylight is an innovative and convenient alternative to manual opening skylights that are now so much more affordable for homeowners to incorporate into their home designs. Conveniently operated by remote control with special built-in rain sensors, the electric skylight allows natural light and fresh cooling breezes to flow into the room at any time of day.

The new Bannister Kit is easy to install and is a great safety feature that assists climbing in and out of the roof. It also acts as a safeguard around the perimeter of the ladder to prevent injury to those who may be working in the roof.

AS1288 – Are you aware of the new Overhead Glazing rules for Skylights?

In January 2007, twelve months after the release of AS1288-2006 Glass in Buildings, laminated safety glass was standardised as the only type of glass that can be fitted into overhead glazing where the highest part of the glass is three metres above floor level.

In building designs where skylights are incorporated, the vast majority will tend to be installed with their highest point more than three metres from the floor which will therefore restrict the use of many skylights currently on the market that only offer toughened glass.

Fakro Skylights by Breezway offer a high performance, energy efficient, insulating glass unit (IGU) which is arguably the best on the market with a high strength 6.76mm laminated safety glass on the inside, suitable for installation in any situation where the three metre rule applies.

Breezway Crowned “Supplier of the Year”

Breezway was recognised for outstanding performance when they received the prestigious Lincoln Sentry “Supplier of the Year” award on Wednesday, 21 May 2008.

It was with great pride that our Sales & Marketing Manager for Australia, Mr David Brogan, accepted the award on behalf of Breezway.

The ceremony not only recognised the efforts and achievements of fellow staff, but thanked their suppliers for the support and contribution to their National Sales Conferences.

Ideas Book
The new Breezway Ideas Book features a number of enhancements including:

• There is a greater focus on our energy message,
• The Powerlouvre Window is more strongly promoted,
• Content from the Altair Selection Guide is included, and
• The design style is updated.

As the new Ideas Book will contain content from the Altair Selection Guide, the Altair Selection Guide will cease to exist as a separate brochure.

Skylight brochures
The new Skylight brochure has been redesigned to include our complete Skylight product offer including:

• New Electric Skylight
• New manual and electric Venetian Blinds
• New Skylight controls such as the Telescopic Control Rod that can operate both the FV Opening Skylight and the manual Venetian and Blockout Blinds. Electric controls have also been introduced such as a Wall Switch and Remote Control.

Powerlouvre Wiring Stickers
Wiring stickers for the Powerlouvre Window have been introduced to replace previous flyer-type material as a practical solution to the problem with wiring instructions going missing between when Powerlouvres are installed and when they are wired up. The stickers are small enough to fit on the jamb up near the head of the frame to prevent the frustration electrician’s face when they can not find the instructions.
