Using Louvre Windows in Doors

We often get asked “can louvre windows be installed into doors?”. Well this is a possibility! Take a look at the examples on this page to help with your louvre design process. Altair Louvres are most commonly installed into bi-fold or sliding doors so the louvres can be opened to allow ventilation into the house even if the doors remained closed. But they are also common in wet rooms such as laundries to allow built-up moisture to escape while washing machines are running.

When designing your louvre windows into door frames, it is highly recommended you use the low profile handle as the unique shape provides the most functional fit. Consider using timber or aluminium blades for privacy and shading, or glass blades to allow plenty of light into the room and views to be enjoyed by all.

Please be advised, the installation of Altair Louvre Componentry into doors is a highly customised and is only available from some fabricators. We recommend this installation be completed by an experienced DIY enthusiast or your local builder.
