Maronite College of the Holy Family using Breezway Louvre Windows

This project’s design concept was completed by Leaf Architecture, with the view to enclose the school balconies and give the school the ability to have full use of the walkways between the classrooms. The team at Leaf Architecture also delivered the interior design and furniture selection services, while the final architectural design had collaborative efforts by CVD Commercial Glass and Aluminium Windows Pty Ltd and Meridian Construction Services.
Set to be manufactured and installed over the school holidays to have minimal impact on teachers and students, CVD Commercial Glass and Aluminium Windows was required to procure all materials prior to the end of year to ensure the deadline was met.
The curtain wall was manufactured by Capral Aluminium with Breezway Altair Louvre Windows installed using the Stronghold System with bright coloured backed glass and clear laminated viewing panels. By incorporating the Breezway Stronghold System into the design, this provided additional strength and safety where the louvre blades are mechanically held in place and retained using a pin system. This complies with Fall Prevention Standards. Blades can be opened to allow abundant fresh air into the building to naturally ventilate education spaces and keep children and teachers mentally stimulated.
The laminated glass installed was 10.38 clear laminated to meet Australian Standards and all colour backed glass was heat strengthened to ensure there was no potential for spontaneous combustion of toughened panels in the future.

This project was executed perfectly by Meridian Construction Services and CVD Commercial Glass and Aluminium completing the project on time for the restart of the school year.
