Open Spaced Tropical Beachfront Oasis Utilising Breezway Louvres

OAK BEACH, NORTH QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA

Tropical North Queensland offers some of Australia’s most draw dropping beaches. Nestled into the sands of Oak Beach is the award winning tropical abode ‘Spice’. Passion for a home with soul stems the foundations of the innovative technology behind this beachfront property.

To best utilise the Tropical North Queensland breeze, louvres have been strategically placed to maximise natural airflow and circulation. Breezway Louvres with timber blades can be found in both the bedrooms and bathrooms enhancing the open spaced atmosphere of sand, sea and sky.

Breezway Louvres offer occupants a pristine and peaceful sanctuary to enjoy the gentle lapping of the ocean waves and calming winds from the surrounding rainforest.

Breezway Louvres were preferred for this project by Balay Vandyke Building Designers as the Breezway product range offers blades that open twice as wide as other window types to take advantage of the cooling breezes. It also allowed for natural timber blades to be used which as said by the Building Designers, “added to the overall aesthetic of this tropically designed home”.

This project was the winner of the 2018 Building Designers Association of Queensland Design Award for Residential Design: New Houses $1,000,001-$3,000,000.
