Open Spaced Tropical Beachfront Oasis Utilising Breezway Louvres

OAK BEACH, NORTH QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA

Tropical North Queensland offers some of Australia’s most draw dropping beaches. Nestled into the sands of Oak Beach is the award winning tropical abode ‘Spice’. Passion for a home with soul stems the foundations of the innovative technology behind this beachfront property.

To best utilise the Tropical North Queensland breeze, louvres have been strategically placed to maximise natural airflow and circulation. Breezway Louvres with timber blades can be found in both the bedrooms and bathrooms enhancing the open spaced atmosphere of sand, sea and sky.

Breezway Louvres offer occupants a pristine and peaceful sanctuary to enjoy the gentle lapping of the ocean waves and calming winds from the surrounding rainforest.

Breezway Louvres were preferred for this project by Balay Vandyke Building Designers as the Breezway product range offers blades that open twice as wide as other window types to take advantage of the cooling breezes. It also allowed for natural timber blades to be used which as said by the Building Designers, “added to the overall aesthetic of this tropically designed home”.

This project was the winner of the 2018 Building Designers Association of Queensland Design Award for Residential Design: New Houses $1,000,001-$3,000,000.

Bringing Natural Warmth and Light to an Entertainment Area

Bringing Natural Warmth and Light to an Entertainment Area

Nambucca Heads, New South Wales, Australia

This project is the private home of owners Craig and Melissa Marsay from Nambucca Glass & Aluminium. Craig and Melissa built a new outdoor entertainment area that has been fitted with a spa bath and outdoor setting.

Nambucca Glass & Aluminium are a proud supplier of Breezway Louvre Windows so the opportunity was taken to install the Breezway product in and around this entertainment area using Decowood Western Red Cedar louvre blades. When closed, Breezway louvres seal tight so will shelter them from the weather and neighbouring eyes. However when the louvres are open, they allow fresh, natural breezes to keep the area cool and comfortable – the perfect entertainment area anyone would wish for!

By installing louvres with a timber-look powder coat finish, natural warmth can also be added to the home’s aesthetic appearance whilst maintaining a connection to the environment.

Renovated Home with High Ceilings, Stunning Quality of Light

Renovated Home with High Ceilings, Stunning Quality of Light

Hawthorne, Queensland, Australia

The renovation of this home included large openings and semi indoor/outdoor areas which open up to the best aspects of the home. This results in beautiful spaces to relax in the perfect temperature.

However, for areas that do not have optimal aspects such as the kitchen area, beautiful high ceilings with large Breezway Louvre Windows have been employed. The result is a stunning quality of light, with no further need of artificial lighting during the day and spectacular breezes. Working in concurrency with the other openings in the home, this creates a comfortably ventilated home, maximising summer breezes which is imperative in our subtropical climate.
